L'Oreal Makeup Review from Influenster

I was lucky enough to receive this package of L'Oreal products for testing purposes, and all thoughts are my own!

Overall, I really liked all of the L'Oreal products that were sent to me from Influenster! I will probably be repurchasing half of these items again for myself.

Voluminous Volume Building Mascara
This. Stuff. Is. Amazing. But there is one caveat... It does leave some weird fall out and markings if you do not use it along with some kind of base coat. Before I got the L'Oreal lash primer, I was using an old mascara that I wasn't really a fan of as my "base" coat and that worked perfectly fine but without something on your lashes, this mascara leaves such weird markings. I had a few flakes throughout the day and would also somehow get mascara marks in my under eye area - I am still dumbfounded as to how this happened and where the markings came from - but I figured out that if you use a different mascara on your bottom lashes, you are golden! I guess you could also use the lash primer + this mascara on your bottom lashes too, I just haven't tried it myself.

So other than needing a base coat and needing to use a different mascara on your bottom lashes, this mascara is seriously amazing! It makes your lashes so long and just as the title suggests, you can definitely build up the thickness or volume. I didn't have any problem with mascara chunks on my lashes, and the formula leaves your eyelashes looking so pretty, thick and spread apart. This is my new favorite mascara, for sure.

Voluminous Lash Primer
This stuff is pretty awesome! Like I mentioned above, this is a great base coat for the Voluminous Mascara and I imagine it would look great under any other mascara! Personally, I will keep using it in the L'Oreal duo that it was intended for. I will definitely be purchasing this again, along with it's mascara counterpart.

Color Riche Monos Eyeshadow
I received two different shades - the brownish color is "Pain Au Chocolat" and the cream colored one is "Paris Beach". Personally, I'm not big into eyeshadows; I wear (more or less) the same neutral/gold shimmer color everyday of my life and that's just how I like it. I have always been a fan of simple eye makeup and that is just what works for me. So getting sent some new, different colors than what I typically get for myself was really exciting!

My main thought about these eyeshadows is that the pigmentation isn't as strong as it looks in the tray. When I swatched these, they both looked amazing, but when I applied them with a brush to my eyelid, the color wasn't as strong. I will say though, Paris Beach has a pretty good opacity and is such a pretty cream color. It can also easily be used as a base coat for other shadows. The Pain Au Chocolat is a pretty color but very odd.... In the container, it almost looks like a shimmery purple color, yet the color description is a brown color, and on my eyelids, it looks like a cool tone, shimmery gray almost. It's very odd but I actually really like the color!

If you are interested in purchasing single eyeshadows opposed to getting a whole palette, I think these could be a good option. And for only $6, you really don't have anything to lose in trying. I know there are better eyeshadows out there, but in my opinion, these are definitely a good starting point to anyone new to eyeshadows.

Infallible Eyeliner
This eyeliner crayon works great, but isn't any more amazing than any other one sitting on the shelves, to be honest. I have been using Almay eyeliner crayons for years because I love it and this L'Oreal eyeliner seems like a very similar product. It goes on smooth, lasted me all day and didn't smudge. There is actually a "smudge" tool on the other end of the eyeliner that is intended to be used to smudge your eyeliner to make a smokey eye. I tried to mess around with this and had no such luck so I'm not really sure what L'Oreal was going for with that part... There's not much else to say about this one, except that I liked it! And if you like this type of eyeliner, I think you'd like it too.

L'Oreal Brow Stylist Prep & Shape Pro Kit
To be honest, I feel like I am not the best person to test this product. I do absolutely nothing to my eyebrows except a little plucking so I have no real grasp on what is a "good" brow kit or not. However, I did play around with this a little bit and I did like it!? It's not something that I would wear everyday but I could see myself using this for maybe more special occasions or any day I felt like being a little bit more put together. I was sent the lighter colored palette (there is a dark version as well) and it worked pretty well for my eyebrow color.

The directions say to use the angled brush in the wax side of the product to sculpt your brows to the desired shape. Then, using the same angled brush, you are supposed to apply the setting powder to fill in the gaps and keep the wax in place. You then finish off the look by using the spoolie brush to comb through your brows. I tried these exact instructions and had absolutely no luck with the wax part. I could never get the product to stick onto the angled brush so I just tried using the setting powder and ended up kind of liking it! So seeing as only half of this product kind of worked for me, I would probably give it a pass.
