I'll Take It In Pink!

Guys. I am one happy camper! This weekend, I bought my first Kate Spade purse!! (insert heart eyes emoji). Yes, I know I'm the last girl on the planet to have one, but I don't care. I love it so much. My husband and I went shopping to the Allen Outlets over the holiday weekend and I ended up catching this beautiful bombshell for 75% off - how awesome is that!? I probably sound super lame raving about a little cross body, but I'm just so happy! It feels nice to spend a little money on yourself. Plus, Kate Spade [and Kendra Scott] are my forever favorites. I wish I could buy every item that those ladies design!

Speaking of wishing I could buy everything in sight, something has been on my mind the last few weeks and I just wanted to drop a little truth bomb on ya [so if you're just here for outfit pictures, just keep scrolling :) ].

My husband and I have been married for two years now and have been the stereotypical struggling newlyweds. Over the last two years, we have been very frugal with our money and spending it mostly on necessities and food (yes, we are fatties). Thanks to the amazing Lord up above, we have both gotten new jobs and raises within the last couple of months so I could afford to spend a little fun money.

It's a joke among my friends that I won't spend more than $20 on any one item, but it's so true. Even spending $20 on something makes me cringe, so spending a little extra money on a new purse was totally out of my comfort zone but totally exciting! I know I sound really lame but I hope there are some ladies out there who spend their money the same way I do. This is the first time since being married that I've spent a little chunk of change on one single item - I know, I'm a freak. But I'm the type of person who rather get 10 things for $100 rather than one item for $100. More bang for your buck, ya know!? Anyone else like that? Please tell me I'm not the only crazy.

And now you're probably asking yourself "where is this post going?" And I find myself asking the same thing as I write. I think I just wanted to put it out there that no matter how bougie I may or may not seem on Instagram, I'm not. I'm just an average girl, with an average job, who is always on the hunt for a sale. I just wanted to let the world know that you can look and feel amazing in great clothes on a small budget. I'd love to know about your favorite Instagram accounts who are on a smaller budget and bargain shop like me! Comment below with some of your favorites and let's be friends :)

With all this being said, I just want you all to know that I am so blessed and thankful for everything that God has given me!

Mixed Prints

Today is a freezing day in Dallas (along with the rest of the world). The wind chill seriously makes it feel like 20 degrees.. Guess I shouldn't be complaining since most states are supposed to be in the single digits tomorrow - eek!

I am thankful for another day of worship on this sunny and chilly day. With all the holidays and traveling, along with a nice storm, our small group hasn't met in a few weeks and I'm excited that we are back on tonight!

(The puppies wouldn't let me take a picture without them!)

Crazy, Beautiful Life

Oh my goodness last week was so busy! My sister was here, we celebrated David's birthday, Thanksgiving, and my birthday was yesterday! So, sorry for the extra long post.

For Thanksgiving, it was only me, David, and Kelly and it was surprisingly fun! Our "cooking" was very miniscule. We bought a lot of pre-made stuff, oops. None of us can cook well or really like it so we just had a makeshift thanksgiving dinner. I wouldn't change it for anything! Kelly and I "made" the sides and David actually did the turkey all by himself! He had to call his dad every once in a while to see what to do next, but it came out great and we were all proud of him!

And Miley was especially thankful for her glorious turkey dinner.

Yesterday I turned 24 - ah, how crazy! David was amazingly sweet and made my birthday really special. He left notes all around our apartment, some with directions to his computer and instructions on logging in and opening a document. The document was titled "24 Reasons Why I Love You." I read it with my morning coffee and teared up. He isn't any kind of emotional so this was extra special! Then he came home from work with gifts for me he bought all by himself! I was surprised by this because it was CLOTHES and he never ventures out to buy me clothes. I love the top and fuzzy socks! After that, we went to Cheesecake Factory - woo hoo! My favorite place. THEN we went to Target and bought some Christmas decorations!!! This was also extra special because David doesn't like spending much money (lol) and he isn't the hugest lover of Christmas so him offering to go Christmas/stocking shopping was super nice! He knows how much I am obsessed with Christmas and I'm glad he still loves me through my ridiculousness :)
