A Pop of Color
A pop of color goes a long way.
This morning I was feeling a little bit monochromatic - as you can tell. But I was craving something else to add to this outfit. That's when I turned around and saw my new Kate Spade bag in my closet. The heavens opened and a bright beam cast upon it and the trumpets sounded - dun dun dun-na!
Just kidding, it wasn't that serious. I'm being weird. But I really was excited to add a little pink to my outfit. (insert heart eyes emoji)
Not that this outfit necessarily needed a pop of color, but it's something I wanted to add. It's perfectly okay - and chic- to wear monochromatic outfits. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. The way to balance out the simplicity of them is to add a pop or color, or even some pattern mixing. Or do both as I did here! Try adding a colorful arm stack, patterned shoes or a bright purse. It's an easy way to add a little pizzazz to a potentially "plain" outfit.
What's your favorite (or go-to way) to add a some brightness to your outfits?

The Perfect Match
Talk about the perfect match! I got this necklace in my latest Rocksbox and couldn't decide what to wear with it. You know when you have too many options, it makes it harder to choose? That was my life this morning. I was looking around in my closet and realized this top was the perfect match for this necklace! I'm not usually one to be super matchy matchy but I tried something new and actually really love it!
What do you guys think - too matchy matchy or just right?

Lucky Outfit
So here is a fun (and by that I mean insane) little story about an incident at work tonight.. I was working up front tonight and about 3 minutes into work, a woman left the store so I said "thanks! Have a nice night." She turned around, stared at me and said "don't you worry about my night little girl!" Uhhhhh okay. I was waiting for her to laugh to something....... Nope. So she leaves the store, comes back and, no joke, just stomps around the front of the store and is cursing out loud/at me then leaves again. What? Why? I don't know. THEN she comes back in, walks straight over to me, turns over a whole table of folded shorts, points her finger at me and says "that's for you" and leaves for a third time. At this point, I was truly scared for my life. I called my manager up to the front and he informed me that he caught that same woman trying to shoplift earlier...
So basically, a woman tried to shoplift from our store, got caught, and I told her to have a nice night. Go me. And I was wearing this (first) outfit. Seems lucky to me!

Fun Finds
I tend to gather a lot of my outfit/shopping inspiration from Instagram - I'm addicted. Recently, I have been seeing a lot of ladies getting their necklaces and accessories from ebay so I started browsing and found a TON of cute necklaces. All of the inexpensive ones - I'm talking DOLLARS - are from China so that automatically takes a month or so to ship and receive. That kind of stinks but oh well. And I figured that there would be a few outcomes: 1) I spend $5 on a necklace, it sucks and I'm only out a few dollars 2) it is super cheap and breaks after I wear it once and I'm only out a few dollars 3) it's awesome and I only paid 5 dolla.
So far, I have worn this necklace twice and it is still intact. I ended up coating it with a clear spray paint because most [cheap] necklaces tend to rub that green stain on your neck so I wanted to go ahead and avoid that - I had a feeling I was going to get rust branded by this gem.

Working Girl!
Today was a very exciting day!! I
started out training with an amazing company. After the training, I will be
re-evaluated and then given a position at the company or let go. Let's
hope that the former is in the future!! I don't want to get too excited
because you never know what is going to happen, but I'm hoping this is a
career step for me and as soon as I know more, I will inform the world
wide web!! Here is what I wore on my first day of training:

Life has been so fun and busy lately which means a decrease in blogging.. Oops!
This weekend David and I went to Pete's Dueling Piano Bar (our fave) with our friend Nate and his new lady friend. It is always a fun night at Pete's but even more fun with more friends! This weekend we also went to Petland to pick up some things for Miley and ended up holding puppies for two hours (insert in love cat emoji here).. They were adorable!! Of course, I fell in love with the tiny chihuahua. He was the cutest thing I have ever seen - minus Miley. The little cutie was $1400, eek! Who would spend that much money? You can find puppies on Craiglists, adoption centers, or other random outlets. Seems a little crazy to me.. Oh well. Can't wait to get our little baby boy chihuahua in April, though!
Here are a few of my recent outfits and my new favorite accessory! So happy it finally came in the mail and I can be apart of the world wide, huge, gold bracelet epidemic, woo hoo!
Do I wear a leopard pattern is some form every day? Maybe. Judgement free zone, okay!?

Scarves and Boots
The weather in Dallas yesterday was rather surprising. It has been on and off chilly for the last couple of weeks but yesterday was probably the coldest it's been since we've been here! My phone said 57 degrees but it forgot to inform me that it actually felt like 30. I could have bundled up more but I am in no way complaining; I am loving this weather! However, I have yet to give into my over-sized sweaters. I'm trying to save those until they are vital to wear.
One thing that has been bugging me the past couple months is the fascination that everyone has with giving into new trends/traditions RIGHT when they come out.. By this I mean, girls raced to Starbucks the day that PSLs came out, they put on boots and scarves at the first sign of a wind chill and they will now be chugging down peppermint mocha coffees until the end of December. Don't get me wrong, I definitely love myself a PSL, sweet sweater, perfect boot and peppermint mocha but why pull them out the first day you possibly can? I'm not switching out my pumpkin flavored drinks and smells for peppermint ones for a few more weeks, at least!
Am I the only one holding off on my peppermint mochas and over-sized sweaters?
