DIY Cork Board

I have been browsing Pinterest and home magazines trying to find something cute, easy and useful to occupy a wall in our living room. Our walls are long and hard to decorate on a small budge since we can't buy huge pieces. I finally came across this picture and decided to make something similar. This picture has no directions posted with it but I'm sure there are others with directions if you look around more than I did. So since there were not directions, I'm a little bit proud of myself for coming up with this end project by myself. Here is my inspiration picture and directions following:

1) Buy ingredients - cork squares, poster board, hot glue, fabric
- Cork Squares - 2 4-pack squares from Walmart @ $12 each
- Poster Board - $8.00 from Office Depot (you can probably find these cheaper elsewhere)
 - Hot glue and gun from Walmart
Fabric from JoAnn Fabric's cost me $2.10 !
2) Glue cork squares onto poster board
3) Cut of excess board if you do not plan to use the whole board
4) Place fabric onto cork side of the board
5) Hot glue the edges onto the back of the board (I also used duct tape for extra holding)
6) Nail to your wall! (if you don't want to nail it into your wall, I'm sure there are other methods to anchor it on the wall but this was easiest for us)
7) ENJOY AND PIN

Simple Sunday

It seems to be getting warmer (for the time being) in Dallas! How exciting!! This whole week is supposed to be in the 70s. How crazy. And great. Now I just need a tan..

I've been wanting to wear this belt for a few weeks and just haven't found an outfit to put it together with.. Until now. This is a simple tan/brown outfit for a yesterday's festivities. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Working Wednesday

Today has been such a fiasco. We had a site survey in downtown Dallas at The City Club. I love downtown, but it is oh so confusing. I drove around for probably 10 minutes, weaving in and out of one-way streets trying to find the parking garage we were supposed to be at. And I almost hit someone in the crosswalk and I hate myself!! I was honestly devastated. It was so scary. I didn't even see him. Then I was walking from building to building trying to meet up with my manager. Theeeeen the site survey took almost two and a half hours! So by noon:thirty I was already pooped. Then we grabbed lunch, headed back to the office and I worked until 5:30. Oiy vey and I exhausted!

Happy Wednesday, huh?

So the venue we were at was on the 69th floor of the Renaissance Building in downtown Dallas. Basically the whole floor had windows with an aerial view of Dallas. I love the city! This picture doesn't do it justice and of course I probably took the most boring picture I could with none of the iconic buildings in the background but whatever.

NACE Event

Today was a fun work day! I got to go in late, do a few things in the office then head to an event in Fort Worth! The lecture was about social media in the event industry and teaching us ways to utilize it. I learned a majority of these things during my last year in college, but I was enlightened by many things as well. I surprisingly had a lot of fun. #ILikeNerdyTalk

February Closet/Instagram Challenge

So as I said in another post, my best friend and I started a fashion instagram a few weeks ago. We are having a lot of fun with it and I love seeing outfits everyday! A few days ago, I came across this closet and instagram February challenge and we decided to accept. If you aren't familiar with this type of challenge, it's where you have a list of themes/outfits for every day in February and try to dress accordingly. It is an innovative way to change up your wardrobe a bit if you are getting tired of your clothes (like I am). I invite everyone to join along - it's not too late! Be sure to use #stylebefeb when posting to share your outfits with the rest of the challengers!
